The Senior Director Business Solutions Manager – Private & Commercial Banking is the executive technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and executing the technology strategy, product portfolio, and business solutions roadmap supporting Private Banking, Commercial Banking, and related banking capabilities.
This role serves as the primary strategic partner to senior business executives and is accountable for aligning technology investments with enterprise objectives, driving measurable business outcomes, and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative solutions. The Senior Director provides leadership across Application Managers, product and delivery teams, technology partners, and vendors while fostering a high-performing organization focused on client experience, operational excellence, risk management, and growth.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Own the multi-year technology strategy and roadmap for Private Bank and Commercial Bank capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive business leaders and influence strategic direction, investment decisions, and prioritization.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio strategy balancing growth, operational efficiency, risk reduction, client experience, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive enterprise-wide modernization initiatives and technology transformation programs.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve business outcomes and delivery effectiveness.
Executive Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives across Banking, Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Technology.
- Lead governance forums and portfolio reviews.
- Communicate strategic direction, investment recommendations, risks, and value realization outcomes.
- Align stakeholders around shared priorities and organizational objectives.
Organizational Leadership
- Provide direct leadership and coaching to Application Managers and other technology leaders.
- Define organizational structures, talent strategies, succession plans, and workforce development priorities.
- Build high-performing teams focused on accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor leaders and foster strategic thinking, executive presence, and business acumen across the organization.
Technology & Delivery Leadership
- Oversee the delivery, support, and lifecycle management of banking applications and platforms.
- Establish standards and governance for engineering, architecture, user experience, product management, and delivery practices.
- Mature software engineering capabilities, DevOps practices, solution design, and delivery excellence.
- Ensure operational resiliency, application availability, performance, and security.
AI, Innovation & Transformation
- Lead adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across product delivery, software engineering, testing, operations, and decision support functions.
- Drive organizational change management efforts that improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Establish innovation practices that encourage experimentation and measurable value creation.
- Champion continuous improvement and modernization initiatives.
Financial & Portfolio Accountability
- Own technology investment planning, portfolio prioritization, and budget governance.
- Manage multimillion-dollar operating and project budgets.
- Oversee vendor strategy, contract negotiations, and service-level performance.
- Ensure effective resource allocation and value realization from technology investments.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, banking technology, product management, or business solutions leadership.
- Experience leading managers and large cross-functional organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Private Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Deposits, Lending, and related financial services domains preferred.
- Proven experience leading digital transformation, application modernization, and organizational change initiatives.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions and leveraging automation to improve business and technology outcomes.
