Summary of the Position:
The Manager of Technology Strategy and Architecture is responsible for leading the development and implementation of TriState Capital Bank’s technology strategy and architecture. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals, ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of the company’s application services and technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and leadership. As lead architect, the role is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s technology architecture is aligned with its business strategy and is adaptive to meet changing client, business and regulatory demands. The role will oversee the technology governance process, orchestrating technical design reviews to leverage standard capabilities, avoid technical debt and ensure non-functional requirements are addressed in alignment with enterprise policies and standards (security, performance, scalability, reliability, resilience, and recoverability). The position will also be responsible for overseeing problem management with the intent to improve the reliability and efficiency of IT systems and services. Finally, the role collaborates with key stakeholders within TriState and Raymond James IT/Enterprise Architecture to align on technology and data governance responsibilities, utilizing common methods and capabilities, to advance the Company’s technology and data architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture Development: Design and oversee the implementation of a robust, scalable, and secure technology architecture for TriState Capital Bank.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of architects and technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of technology solutions. Engage with business leadership and change/program management office to ensure that the organization’s technology architecture is aligned with business strategy.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and trends to determine their potential impact on the company’s strategy and architecture.
- Governance: Establish and enforce technology standards, policies, and best practices across the organization. Oversee the Technology Design Forum to review, guide, and align technology investments with the Company’s architect standards with the goal to ensure scalable, effective, and compliant capabilities. Align Tristate’s business and technology architecture with applicable Raymond James Technology / EA policies and standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology initiatives and architecture. Drive the problem management process and associated actions to prevent reoccurrence while informing necessary IT architecture and development modifications. Maintain the currency of the organization’s architecture, technologies, policies, standards, and practices.
- Strategic Planning: Support development and execution of the Company’s technology strategic plan aligned and supporting the Company’s business objectives and growth plans.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology strategy, solutions architecture, application development, technology infrastructure or a related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Financial services or banking experience required.

- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology initiatives.

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams of employees and contractors, off-shore, and on-shore.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to develop standards and policies that guide the use of IT assets.
- Excellent communication skills for educating business partners on best practices for applying the company’s IT products, resources and solutions.
- Experience with design and development of component software utilizing various methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Rapid Application Development (RAD), Kanban, Test-Driven Development
- Familiarity and experience with cloud-native architectural constructs.
- Process driven mind-set.
